Prime Minister Abiy, who mentioned the deterioration of relations between Eritrea and Ethiopia, stated that the problem in the relationship between the two countries was 'not because' his government raised the question of gaining access to a sea outlet on the Red Sea.

He also told members of the council that Eritrean soldiers 'massacred youth en masse' in Axum, and that they destroyed and looted factories in the cities of Adwa and Adigrat.

"በደመወዝማ ቢሆን ማንም ሰው ኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ አይሠራም ነበር" ሲሉም ጨምረው ተናግረዋል

He further stated, "If it were about the salary, no one would have worked for Ethiopian Airlines."
