Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2025

Gursha ("we," "our," or "us") is an Amharic language learning app built by Andralabs. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, the information Apple provides (which may include a relay email address).

Learning data

We store your progress — which lessons you've completed, exercise results, and words you've practiced — so your learning carries over between sessions and devices.

Usage analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymized product analytics (screen views, feature interactions, session counts). This helps us understand how the app is used and where to improve. No personally identifying information is attached to these events.

2. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data storage

Your account and learning data are stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure. Data is stored in the United States.

4. Third-party services

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days.

6. Your rights

You may request to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@gursha.dev.

7. Children's privacy

Gursha is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
